Role Overview

The Overnight Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all facility areas, ensuring a safe and outstanding experience for members and employees alike. This position emphasizes adhering to rigorous cleanliness standards to uphold the Planet Fitness brand and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Deeply clean and sanitize shared zones including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, following established cleaning standards.
• Vacuum floors and use the floor scrubber according to scheduled routines.
• Dispose of trash properly and maintain cleanliness of trash bins and cleaning stations.
• Replenish supplies and paper products as necessary; communicate stock needs with the Club Manager.
• Dust and clean elevated surfaces like ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
• Report any damages or missing fixtures (toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym machines) to Club Management.
• Operate laundry equipment such as washers and dryers.
• Maintain cleaning tools, including cleaning mop buckets and emptying vacuum bags.
• Greet members and guests at entry and exit points, addressing questions and check-in assistance.
• Handle phone calls courteously and provide support to callers.
• Process retail transactions accurately while contributing to sales targets.
• Address member concerns, escalating issues to management when needed.
• Regularly patrol the club to identify and promptly resolve safety, policy, or cleanliness issues.

Candidate Qualifications

• Availability to work overnight shifts.
• Preferred experience in cleaning and sanitizing environments.
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/AED certification (training provided by Planet Fitness).
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing and move continuously throughout the shift.
• Effective verbal communication in person and via phone.
• Capability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals during duties.
• Frequent cleaning tasks requiring movement such as bending and twisting.
