Role Overview

Working under the guidance of the Site Manager, the Operations Manager will provide crucial support in overseeing daily site functions focused on processing plastics, cans, and glass. Collaborating closely with teams in Safety, Engineering, Logistics, and Quality, the role involves managing operational performance, ensuring compliance, and fostering staff development within a continuous 24-hour operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhancing safety culture by minimizing incidents and accidents, monitoring compliance, and setting realistic targets for ongoing improvement to maintain staff safety.
  • Supervising site operations to guarantee safe facility management in alignment with business demands and site permits, including acting as deputy for the Site Manager when necessary.
  • Contributing effectively to the achievement of annual Profit and Loss budgets.
  • Tracking operational performance metrics such as downtime, yields, and safety against goals, promptly addressing any shortcomings, and identifying opportunities to exceed budget expectations.
  • Responding immediately to any safety violations, liaising with the Safety and Compliance Manager to track risks, analyze trends, and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Devoting significant time to production site management, providing practical operational support and guidance, including compiling production reports.
  • Managing moderately to highly complex production-related tasks and preparing detailed reports to assist senior management in recognizing trends, deficiencies, and strategies for improvement.
