Role Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the MEP contracting activities, ensuring projects are executed efficiently while enhancing productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of several MEP projects across the UAE territories.
• Formulate strategies to boost operational efficiency and meet business targets.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, HR, and other departments.
• Track project progress and swiftly address operational challenges.
• Manage allocation of labor, equipment, and materials effectively.
• Supervise MEP work phases from mobilization through project handover.
• Ensure projects remain within budget and adhere to scheduled timelines.
• Monitor costs, productivity, and resource use for all projects.
• Analyze project reports, initiating corrective measures when needed.
• Build and maintain strong relations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Participate in client meetings providing operational insights during project execution.
• Handle client concerns professionally to guarantee satisfaction and promote repeat business.
• Oversee project profitability and control operational expenses.
• Review financial documents including budgets, cash flow forecasts, and periodic financial reports.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or safety.
• Support commercial functions related to claims, variations, and contracts.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities for project teams and support personnel.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous process improvements.
• Manage recruitment and retention of high-quality operational staff.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Optimize resource deployment across ongoing projects.
• Supervise subcontractor performance and productivity levels.
• Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly operational summaries for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Between 10 to 15 years of growing experience in the construction industry.
• Minimum of 5 years dedicated to operations management roles.
• Proven leadership skills and capacity to manage teams effectively.
• Expertise in planning and project execution.
• In-depth understanding of MEP systems and construction practices.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial insight.
• Excellent abilities in communication, negotiation, and problem resolution.
• Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering fields.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Project Management is advantageous.
• Possession of PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Availability for travel to various project sites as necessary.
