Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager as part of a team dedicated to operational excellence, emphasizing people management and safety.
  • Flexibly rotate between 12-hour continental shifts, including days and nights.
  • Manage and oversee team member scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels; identify staffing requirements; assist in onboarding and training personnel.
  • Lead initiatives related to plant safety, food safety, and waste reduction within the operation.
  • Acquire operational knowledge of equipment to effectively coach and mentor team members.
  • Conduct regular departmental walkthroughs, participate in daily meetings, and inspect equipment and premises to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support uniform procedures to improve operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role with similar responsibilities.
  • Possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field, or demonstrate equivalent skills and experience.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and listening skills to effectively engage with a diverse workforce.
  • Show proven communication abilities and leadership competence.
  • Demonstrate proactivity and problem-solving skills with a readiness to drive change.
  • Maintain a positive and energetic demeanor along with inherent leadership qualities.
