Role Purpose

The Officer - Operations & Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing daily water system operations, ensuring production targets and quality benchmarks are met. The role requires close collaboration with the Maintenance team for equipment upkeep, handling procurement requests, preparing daily MIS reports, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of pre-treatment plants, sea/brackish water RO, DM systems, ETP, STP, ZLD, NH3 storage, N-Pit, Chlorination/Electro Chlorination systems ensuring smooth workflows.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to schedule and complete planned maintenance activities for equipment availability, tracking PM schedules diligently.
• Implement work instructions aimed at improving operational efficiency and meeting prescribed production quality and quantity goals.
• Initiate Material Service Requests to procure necessary components and materials.
• Prepare and submit daily Management Information System (MIS) reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records for chemicals and consumable supplies.
• Perform daily SAP-related operations activities including generating Purchase Requests for procurement.
• Adhere to corporate guidelines such as IMS, AWMS, DISHA, and CHETNA within the department.
• Ensure personnel and equipment safety through training and compliance with safety protocols.
• Comply with all legal and statutory requirements governing plant operations.
• Follow PTW (Permit to Work) protocols in all documentation and formats.
• Drive digitization initiatives and automation solutions to enhance operational productivity and align with organizational strategies.
• Continuously adopt process improvements and innovations through new technologies within operations.

Stakeholder Interaction

• Internal Coordination: Operations & Maintenance, Environment & Sustainability teams.
• External Coordination: Contractors and service providers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Background: M.Sc., B.Sc., or B.Tech in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines with specialization in water or industrial chemistry preferred.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 4 years in thermal power plant chemistry operations, especially related to boiler water chemistry (500 MW and above), coal and oil analysis, and water treatment systems.
• Industry Exposure: Experience in Thermal Power Plants or equivalent industries is highly preferred.
