Role Overview

This position is for a seasoned logistics leader to oversee transportation and supply chain execution across the United States, Canada, and Mexico for a global industrial manufacturer serving high-temperature process industries such as steel, refractories, foundry, glass, cement, lime, mining, aluminum, copper, and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute initiatives that strengthen safety, customer service, OTIF performance, inventory health, cost control, and operating efficiency.
Work in partnership with manufacturing, production, procurement, logistics, customer service, and commercial stakeholders.
Use SAP/ERP, MRP, Power BI, Excel, and planning tools to support analysis and operational decisions.
Improve performance through KPI tracking and continuous improvement efforts focused on OTIF, working capital, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, freight expense, and service levels.
Oversee carrier management, freight rate negotiations, trucking operations, cross-border shipping, customs compliance, and transportation cost reduction.

Preferred Experience

At least 7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight management, distribution, supply chain, or regional logistics leadership.
Hands-on exposure to domestic and cross-border trucking across the United States, Canada, and/or Mexico.
Background in negotiating carrier contracts, controlling freight spend, improving transport networks, and raising logistics performance metrics.
Experience with TMS platforms, freight analysis, customs requirements, and USMCA-related operations.
Prior leadership of logistics teams, carrier partnerships, or third-party logistics providers.
Experience in refractory, steel, metals, foundry, mining, glass, cement, lime, industrial minerals, or heavy manufacturing environments is preferred.
Knowledge of products such as refractory brick, monolithic refractories, castables, gunning mixes, ramming mixes, mortars, alumina, tabular alumina, calcined alumina, magnesia, dolomite, zircon, silicon carbide, graphite, and ceramic materials.
Exposure to carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, specialty metals, aluminum, copper, nickel, titanium, cast iron, or ductile iron production.
Understanding of processes such as blast furnaces, basic oxygen furnaces, electric arc furnaces, continuous casting, rolling mills, heat treating, forging, kilns, calcining, sintering, and mineral processing.
Strong analytical ability, leadership presence, and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay of up to $150,000.
