Role Overview

We are seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist to join our team on a contract basis, working remotely from any location. This role entails designing and performing molecular biology experiments, analyzing experimental data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support research projects. The specialist will focus on optimizing protocols and addressing challenges in experimental workflows within biotechnology research.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and conduct molecular biology assays including PCR, cloning methods, and DNA/RNA isolations.
Utilize bioinformatics tools and statistical techniques to interpret experimental outcomes.
Thoroughly document experimental procedures and results, and communicate findings to support research goals.
Work alongside scientists and engineers to align molecular biology processes with broader research initiatives.
Refine laboratory protocols to enhance efficiency and reproducibility of experiments.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Expertise in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid purification methods.
Experience analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data is advantageous.
Strong capabilities in molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson Assembly and restriction enzyme digestion.
Proficiency with bioinformatics tools including BLAST, Primer-BLAST, and sequence alignment software.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve experimental problems effectively.
