Role Summary

We are currently looking for a Mine Operator in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to efficiently conduct safe extraction and drilling activities on site. This role involves handling heavy equipment like drill rigs, excavators, and haul trucks to ensure a steady supply of high-grade ore for our refining processes. The successful candidate will maintain rigorous Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance while supporting mining production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various heavy machinery including drill rigs, excavators, and haul trucks as per daily mining plans.
• Strictly follow all safety protocols including Permit to Work systems and use of personal protective equipment.
• Perform equipment pre-start inspections and promptly report any mechanical faults to maintenance teams.
• Accurately document operational data such as tonnage moved, fuel consumption, and equipment operational hours using digital systems.
• Support drilling teams by positioning machinery correctly and ensuring blast zone safety during explosive operations.
• Implement environmental control measures like dust suppression and spill containment to meet regulatory standards.
• Provide comprehensive shift handover reports addressing production status and safety matters.
• Participate in emergency response drills and respond effectively to incidents under supervision.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or vocational certificate specializing in heavy equipment operation.
• A minimum of three years’ experience operating mining machinery within an industrial environment.
• Valid Saudi heavy vehicle driving license.
• Strong understanding of HSE practices including Lockout Tagout procedures and hazard recognition.
• Ability to interpret basic mine plans and communicate technical instructions in English and Arabic.
• Physical capability to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions and shift schedules.
• Experience with digital logging tools and radio communications.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge for diesel and hydraulic systems is advantageous.

Preferred Credentials

• Certification from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in heavy machinery operation.
• Prior exposure to gold or precious metal mining projects within Saudi Arabia.
• First aid and industrial firefighting training tailored to mining environments.
• Familiarity with GPS-based drilling and haulage technologies.

Performance Indicators

• Maintaining zero safety incidents or environmental violations during evaluations.
• Meeting or exceeding production and drilling meter targets consistently.
• Achieving equipment uptime above 90% through proactive maintenance.
• Successful completion of all mandatory training within six months of joining.
• Positive assessments based on reliability and adherence to procedures.
• Demonstrated competency in operating at least two different types of heavy equipment.
• Timely and accurate submission of all production and shift logs.
