Medical Typist - Discharge Summary

Job Overview

We are seeking a Medical Typist to efficiently manage discharge summaries at Sugam Medical Services Private Limited in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This role involves handling medical records accurately, preparing discharge summaries based on doctor's dictation, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive previous day's discharged inpatient medical records, verifying them against the discharge list issued by reception when the MRD Executive is unavailable.
• Verify admissions from the previous day by cross-referencing admission lists from reception and wards to ensure accurate patient census.
• Prepare discharge summaries precisely according to the doctor's dictated instructions.
• Ensure that discharge summaries are handed over to patients upon discharge to their homes.
• Issue discharge summaries to support patient enhancement initiatives of the company.
• Provide medical records to administrative staff, superiors, and billing departments as requested, ensuring proper documentation and return of records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and records at all times.
• File medical records systematically using UHID and medical coding standards.
• Adhere to relevant quality indicators in all processes.
• Manage and maintain registers related to medical records and discharge summaries.

Compensation

The monthly salary ranges from INR 20,000 to 25,000.
