As a Mechanical Engineer, you will engage with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working on advanced projects such as semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and testing facilities around the world. Your role will encompass a spectrum of activities from feasibility assessments and long-term planning to comprehensive design and construction support for diverse complex facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and oversee engineering and design tasks within the team to produce accurate construction documents.
- Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate actively with electrical, structural, architectural, and process engineering disciplines to develop integrated designs.
- Lead plant design portions as either an area or system lead while guiding multidiscipline teams.
- Conduct Mechanical/HVAC plant design employing 2D and 3D integrated modeling tools.
- Perform thorough quality checks on 2D/3D models and mechanical/HVAC deliverables.
- Contribute to design reviews, carry out risk assessments, and assist with vendor bid analyses.
- Support proposal development by preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Estimate designer effort and hours required for mechanical/HVAC engineering tasks.
- Lead site selection efforts and perform due diligence assessments.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment to design effective plans and alternative solutions.
- Engage in fieldwork by observing construction progress and verifying that submittals comply with contract and design specifications.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to project engineers and designers on various projects.
- Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in building services or mechanical engineering is mandatory.
- Experience working within semiconductor sectors is preferable, with exposure to large-scale industrial projects, particularly involving both wet and dry systems.
- Demonstrated skills in performing engineering calculations, drafting detailed specifications, and sizing components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- At least five years of relevant mechanical/HVAC engineering and design experience, especially in industrial or advanced technology sectors.
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written.
- Adept at collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers, clients, and suppliers at various organizational levels.
- Familiarity with Navisworks within BIM workflows is advantageous.
