Mechanic - Motor Vehicle

Overview

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic is assigned as a Trainee in TC 2, tasked with inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various light and heavy motor vehicles to ensure their operational efficiency, safety, and reduced downtime. This position plays a vital role in supporting project and fleet operations by keeping vehicles and equipment in optimal working condition.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out regular servicing and maintenance of motor vehicles including passenger cars, pick-ups, SUVs, buses, and commercial vehicles both light and heavy.
• Identify and diagnose faults related to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components such as engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering mechanisms, suspension, and exhaust assemblies.
• Implement scheduled preventive maintenance activities adhering to manufacturer guidance and company protocols.
• Respond to on-site vehicle breakdowns promptly, providing emergency repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance operations.
• Keep detailed and accurate records including maintenance logs, job cards, and spare parts consumption reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors and fleet managers to communicate vehicle status and timelines for repairs.
• Manage proper storage and handling of tools, equipment, and spare parts to maintain operational readiness.
• Maintain workshop tidiness and practice 5S and safety housekeeping standards consistently.
