Meat Associate

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the meat department's appearance and stock placement.
• Rotate inventory regularly and monitor product freshness, ensuring no expired items remain on shelves.
• Verify that all meat products are correctly labeled with prices and signage.
• Comply with protocols related to cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature recording, proper food handling, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process orders for deli merchandise and assist with slicing and preparing items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken, supporting customer requests.
• Follow established procedures for ordering stock, managing clearance items, marking up or down prices, and appropriately labeling products.
• Prepare and package deli foods and specialty orders using necessary equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; fill salads and side dishes for display.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations within the department.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is $18.30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
