Position Purpose and Role Overview

The Mathematics Teacher will be entrusted with providing excellent education grounded in Christian principles. Responsibilities include both academic teaching and spiritual ministry, ensuring students receive holistic development aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and applicable curriculum frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer prayer and spiritual support for students.
• Design and deliver teaching programs that incorporate Biblical principles, robust subject knowledge, contemporary educational research, and best practices aligning with standards and syllabus requirements.
• Collaborate in team planning and co-teaching activities to enhance learning outcomes.
• Support the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional well-being and safety of students, fostering respectful and supportive relationships.
• Assess and document student progress accurately, providing timely and constructive feedback to engage learners.
• Communicate students' performance effectively with parents and college stakeholders professionally and punctually.
• Utilize standardized testing data to refine teaching methods and improve student achievement.
• Establish and maintain a secure and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs and manages behavior in line with college policies.
• Keep precise attendance records for students.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to learning activities following workplace health, safety regulations, and college protocols.
• Prepare lesson plans that ensure continuity of learning during teacher’s unavoidable absences where feasible.

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

• Active, committed Christian engaged in a local evangelical church community.
• Possession of relevant teaching credentials and qualifications.
• Clear understanding of Christian education's significance and the role of a Christian teacher.
• Experience instructing Mathematics for Years 7 to 12.
• Capability to implement diverse teaching strategies suited to individual and group learning needs.
• Proven partnership skills with parents regarding students' education and welfare.
• Current valid Working with Children Check.
• Mature Christian faith, with openness to discuss and pray about faith-related issues in professional and personal contexts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team teaching and planning settings.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Dedication to continuous professional growth and development.
