Our Global Business Services team supports the bank's operations and technology needs via a globally integrated delivery model emphasizing operational excellence, risk management, and innovation. Our India presence operates as BA Continuum India Private Limited, spanning multiple cities including Chennai, Mumbai, GIFT, and Hyderabad.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to manage how fraud authorization and claims data systems are developed and utilized. The role involves organizing, storing, and analyzing data efficiently across the fraud lifecycle, identifying and addressing data quality concerns, and partnering across teams for remediation aligned with governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and controls over critical data and business processes.
- Design and refine controls and validation rules to enhance data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Track data flows, lineage, metadata, and dependencies to identify risks impacting reporting, analytics, and business decisions.
- Investigate data issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and collaborate with business and IT teams to resolve issues per governance frameworks.
- Create dashboards, executive-level updates, and detailed reports on data quality metrics, control effectiveness, trends, and remediation status.
- Set and maintain standards for data access, usage, and sharing to ensure secure, compliant, and appropriate data consumption.
- Support internal and external audit processes by managing governance documentation, providing evidence, facilitating stakeholder discussions, and resolving findings.
- Act as a product owner to translate governance needs into technical requirements, prioritize development tasks, define acceptance criteria, and oversee delivery of data products and controls.
Educational Background and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in quantitative fields such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, or computer science; postgraduate degrees are an advantage.
- Six to seven years of relevant experience in data governance, data quality, or related control functions, preferably within U.S. financial services.
Technical Competencies
- Strong foundation in data governance principles, data quality frameworks, metadata management, lineage, and control mechanisms.
- Experience in proactive product monitoring and implementation of data quality rules or data platform support.
- Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools like Tableau or equivalents.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL and SAS for data analysis, validation, and investigative purposes.
- Effective communication skills to clearly address both technical and non-technical audiences and facilitate collaboration across diverse teams including operations, risk, compliance, and technology.
- Excellent organizational, project management, priority setting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis abilities alongside executive presence to influence outcomes at various organizational levels.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Knowledge of solution architecture related to agentic AI capabilities and Python programming experience.
- Experience with UX/design tools such as FIGMA or similar, for creating mockups.
- Expertise in workflow automation, especially for operations metrics like performance scorecards and workforce/loss metrics.
Working Schedule and Locations
Working hours are from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM. This position is based onsite in Chennai, Mumbai, GIFT City, or Hyderabad.
