Role Summary
The Manager of Catering Inventory and Logistics is responsible for formulating strategies to supply and distribute catering equipment and amenity items, including dry-stores and bonded goods, ensuring availability across all operations. Leading a team, the role focuses on accurate forecasting, budgeting, and logistics methods to optimize value and governance while managing global inventory to lower costs and stock levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement supply, stock control, and distribution strategies for over 800 catering inventory components across Qatar Airways network.
- Lead and advise on trade-offs balancing supply risks and cost-efficiency.
- Evaluate and enhance logistics strategies to minimize unnecessary transport and promote fuel savings.
- Develop warehouse management plans, overseeing outsourced warehouse operations and advocating for an internal warehousing alternative.
- Foster cross-departmental collaborations within Qatar Airways to secure support for supply decisions and timely trade-offs.
- Manage introduction of new inventory items and timely removal of outdated stock.
- Partner with Product Development & Design and Catering Services to evaluate new products through trials and user feedback for decision-making.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the department head.
Candidate Profile
- Holds at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum five years in logistics, equipment, and supplier management within a global scope.
- Possesses skills in forecasting, reporting, planning, and managing programs or projects.
- Prefers candidates with mathematical and statistical analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and stock management software is advantageous.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, prepared to collaborate in diverse multicultural teams.
- Exhibits strong leadership aptitude with mentoring, coaching, and team-building strengths.
