The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and collaborating closely with Commercial Managers, this position entails owning core management accounting duties across multiple business units, focusing primarily on the Contract Logistics sector. The role is hands-on, requiring a commercially savvy accountant capable of balancing detailed financial analysis with practical business partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile monthly management reporting packages including commentary and variance analysis for assigned business units.
- Prepare journal entries and month-end adjustments.
- Work alongside Finance and Commercial Managers to develop budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts.
- Manage balance sheet controls including conducting reconciliations.
- Oversee and review intercompany reconciliations.
- Support capital expenditure projects and monitor working capital reporting.
- Assist with audit activities and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (CA, CPA, or equivalent certification).
- Currently employed at a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm looking to transition into an industry role.
- Multiple years of relevant experience in similar accounting roles preferred.
- Experience in logistics, distribution, or fast-paced operational environments is advantageous.
- Proven track record in month-end closing activities, including preparing journals, reporting packages, and group-level submissions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
