Overview
MERE HR & Consulting is confidentially recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor on behalf of a co-packing company located in Scarborough, Ontario. This full-time position requires a hands-on maintenance expert who can lead daily maintenance operations, promptly address equipment malfunctions, and maintain a safe, dependable production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule daily maintenance activities to meet production demands.
- Guide and provide technical assistance to maintenance team members.
- Respond effectively to equipment failures and assist with mechanical diagnosis and repair.
- Identify and address recurring equipment problems to minimize production stoppages.
- Plan and oversee preventive maintenance activities ensuring timely completion.
- Monitor the status of production machinery and related facility systems.
- Coordinate with external technicians for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
- Keep accurate maintenance documentation, including work orders and equipment records.
- Assist in ordering necessary parts, tools, and supplies for maintenance operations.
- Enforce adherence to safe work practices and organizational maintenance procedures.
- Support quality control, sanitation standards, and food safety requirements within the facility.
- Collaborate with production and operations staff to prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and ongoing development.
- Assist with installation, upgrades, and improvement projects for equipment.
- Perform maintenance duties hands-on as needed during peak operational periods.
Qualifications
- Experience in a leadership role within industrial maintenance environments.
- Background in food production, packaging, co-packing, or related manufacturing sectors.
- Strong skills in mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair.
- Experience organizing both preventative and corrective maintenance workflows.
- Proven leadership that balances managing personnel with active maintenance involvement.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems is beneficial.
- Trade certification or technical training considered advantageous.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple maintenance priorities in a dynamic production setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic maintenance reporting software.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Annual salary of $80,000.
- Permanent, full-time schedule.
- Monday through Friday workweek.
- Daily hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- This role requires onsite presence at the Scarborough, Ontario facility.
