Maintenance Manager

Overview

Join Sofina Foods Europe as a Maintenance Manager responsible for boosting engineering reliability and performance within a dynamic pork production facility in Tullamore, County Offaly. This role involves managing all engineering and maintenance efforts, ensuring equipment and infrastructure comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planned shutdowns of production equipment.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards and procedures.
• Act as the department representative in cross-functional meetings to align maintenance with other operational goals.
• Provide on-call support to address urgent engineering concerns swiftly.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the engineering and maintenance team to enhance site operational excellence.
• Manage corrective and preventative maintenance programs complying with food safety and health & safety requirements.
• Collaborate closely with production, technical teams, and external suppliers to minimize downtime and promote continuous improvement.
• Oversee site maintenance and calibration schedules and monitor engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), reporting performance to senior leadership.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum Level 5 engineering qualification.
• IOSH certification.
• Previous supervisory experience in maintenance or calibration within a similar environment.
• Experience with maintenance and quality systems relevant to food manufacturing, including deviation management, root cause analysis, training delivery, and documentation standards.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective updates and tracking of tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full modern apprenticeship.
• NEBOSH certification.
• Previous exposure to working in both high and low risk operational environments.
