About the Role

We are collaborating with an esteemed, single-manager investment platform to recruit an experienced Long/Short Equity Analyst specializing in the biotechnology sector. This position is located in New York City with an option for San Francisco. The role offers an opportunity to engage directly in generating alpha through comprehensive fundamental research within a cooperative investment team known for consistent long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough fundamental research on publicly listed biotechnology companies.
• Construct and update comprehensive financial and valuation models.
• Develop unique investment perspectives and communicate actionable long and short investment ideas.
• Continuously track portfolio holdings and stay informed about sector-related news and trends.
• Engage with company executives, industry specialists, physicians, and opinion leaders to gather insights.
• Conduct extensive due diligence analyzing clinical trial data, regulatory milestones, competitive landscape, and business opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with the investment team to aid portfolio structuring and risk evaluation.

Candidate Requirements

• Between three to eight years of investment experience focusing on biotech equities.
• Experience in hedge funds, long-only asset management, or specialized healthcare investment platforms highly preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering differentiated investment ideas grounded in rigorous fundamental research.
• Sound knowledge of drug development processes, clinical trials, regulatory frameworks, and biotech business models.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analytical thinking, and clear communication.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, conviction in views, and a genuine passion for investing.
