Role Overview
The Logistics Project Manager role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle for large-scale automated warehouse and sorting facility initiatives across the Middle East. This hands-on leadership position acts as the critical link between technical project planning and the execution phase involving site upgrades, automation equipment deployment, systems integration, and operational onboarding. Success demands a methodical manager who coordinates multidisciplinary teams, liaises with external vendors, and crafts standardized regional procedures to guarantee timely and quality project completions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of projects from initial planning and detailed task outlining to adjustments during execution, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure delivery standards are met.
- Oversee on-site construction aspects, including civil renovations, electrical and communication installations, logistics automation setup, ensuring tasks proceed smoothly and on schedule.
- Lead collaborative efforts amongst planning, operations, research & development, equipment providers and others to facilitate training, setup, relocation, and launch of warehouse operations ensuring seamless project handover.
- Develop and continuously refine a Middle East-specific project construction standard based on compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness derived from project experience to elevate construction quality and process efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possess at least a bachelor's degree in fields such as Industrial Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Automation, or related domains.
- Have minimum of three years experience managing logistics projects, with proven expertise in automated warehousing and sorting facility implementations. Middle East or international project exposure is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated strong data analytics skills, capable of structured problem-solving using tools like Excel, SQL, or Python for project metric evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential for global reporting and managing international suppliers. Willingness to undertake periodic travel within the Middle East.
- Exhibit strong cross-functional coordination and vendor management abilities along with capacity to develop replicable strategies from complex operational scenarios.
