Role Overview
The full-time Lighting Designer position is based in Singapore with a hybrid work arrangement allowing some remote work. This role involves developing lighting concepts, plans, and detailed specifications for interior and architectural projects, ensuring design briefs are transformed into effective and aesthetically appealing lighting solutions. Daily responsibilities include producing lighting layouts, choosing fixtures, coordinating control systems, and preparing technical documentation and presentations.
The Lighting Designer collaborates closely with architects, interior designers, project managers, and engineering teams to preserve design intentions, adhere to regulatory requirements, and promote energy efficiency. Responsibilities also encompass participating in site visits, refining designs in response to project feedback, and supporting projects from initial concept through to implementation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Expertise in applying Lighting Design and Architectural Lighting principles across different project types.
- Proficiency with lighting and lighting control solutions, including integration with building management systems.
- Understanding of Interior Design principles and their interaction with lighting concepts.
- Experience using design and visualization software such as DIALux, Relux, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with applicable standards, codes, and best practices concerning lighting and energy conservation.
- Strong conceptual abilities, attention to detail, and skill in converting design ideas into precise technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Previous involvement in commercial, hospitality, or architectural lighting projects is advantageous.
- Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to a hybrid work setting based in Singapore.
