Role Overview
Tesla oversees the largest global electric vehicle Supercharger Network, with ambitious plans to rapidly expand its footprint to support sustainable energy adoption worldwide. As part of the Operations Team responsible for safeguarding and growing the Supercharger Network, the Lease Negotiator plays a vital role in managing lease agreements essential to this expansion. This includes handling lease renewals, extensions, expansions, and strategic planning relevant to the North American Supercharger portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct complex lease negotiation processes post-execution for the Charging organization, ensuring alignment with long-term infrastructure planning.
- Utilize data analysis to monitor critical lease timelines such as expirations and renewals that could impact network operations.
- Establish and nurture relationships with various external stakeholders including landlords, property managers, contractors, and governmental bodies.
- Act as the primary liaison to resolve daily operational concerns like contract disputes, payment discrepancies, ownership changes, and lease terminations.
- Promote a collaborative culture emphasizing trust, empathy, quick action, and adaptability with both internal teams and external partners.
- Accurately evaluate and communicate potential risks associated with lease agreements and operations.
- Support the ongoing stability and accelerated growth of the Supercharger infrastructure portfolio.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of four years experience managing commercial real estate negotiations or a comparable background.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong verbal and written communication skills, including the capacity to clearly convey risks.
- Adept at adjusting to changing priorities and operating in dynamic environments.
- High integrity and discretion in managing confidential and proprietary information.
