About the Role
Talbot Hotel Cork, part of the Talbot Collection, is seeking an experienced Laundry/Accommodation Supervisor to join our expanding team. This role involves supporting the daily departmental operations, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces meet the highest cleanliness standards, maintaining staff productivity, and enforcing company health and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional hygiene standards throughout the hotel, as outlined by the Accommodation Manager.
- Oversee scheduled deep cleaning programs in accordance with company SOPs.
- Collaborate with management to train, develop, and coach accommodation staff to meet the hotel’s standards.
- Ensure all equipment is operational at all times and report any malfunctions to maintenance.
- Manage supplies efficiently to minimize waste, including stationary, linen, and amenities.
- Communicate effectively with Reception concerning room allocations and specific requirements.
- Supervise in-house laundry operations following SOPs.
- Maintain corridors free of obstructions as per standard procedures.
- Liaise with other supervisors to address departmental needs and requests.
- Immediately report and follow up on maintenance issues.
- Take responsibility for lost property by recording items and securing them appropriately.
- Adhere strictly to key security procedures at all times.
- Ensure accommodation staff receive required breaks and accurately clock in and out.
- Motivate and develop housekeeping staff, keeping them informed about departmental and hotel successes.
- Comply with all HR policies and procedures rigorously.
- Monitor all staff on duty, ensuring tasks are fully completed according to company procedures.
- Maintain a high level of service and attention to detail within the department and hotel.
- Enhance staff productivity and foster a positive working environment for motivation.
- Implement necessary measures to protect company assets, money, and goods.
- Familiarize and comply with departmental SOP manual duties.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and inform management as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years' experience in a comparable supervisory role.
- Legal eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Demonstrated proven capabilities and results in similar roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective team leadership and communication.
- Previous experience managing teams is highly advantageous.
