Role overview
Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an energetic and committed person to join its Estates and Facilities team in a full-time, on-site role. This position suits someone who enjoys a varied working day, likes working toward targets, and wants to build a career in a supportive NHS environment.
The successful candidate will help the Food Services team meet the needs of patients, staff, and visitors by supporting safe, efficient food storage, preparation, production, and service. The role is focused on maintaining high standards of food hygiene and food safety in line with relevant legislation and local procedures.
Main duties
- Transport patient meals and hospitality items across all BDCT sites using a trust vehicle.
- Use equipment and materials safely and efficiently while following health and safety requirements.
- Receive, store, and distribute goods in line with food safety rules and internal procedures, making sure quality, quantity, and storage conditions are correct.
- Keep chilled, frozen, and ambient storage areas at the required standard.
- Help the duty supervisor monitor stock levels and reduce waste wherever possible.
- Weigh ingredients according to agreed procedures.
- Clean, replenish, and maintain vending machines every day in line with local guidance.
- Follow cash-handling processes for vending and EPoS transactions, and report any shortages or equipment problems to the duty supervisor.
- Support the serving of meals and drinks to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and actively share knowledge, experience, and skills.
