Junior QA Tester

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous Junior QA Tester to join our Software Quality Assurance team. This position is perfect for recent graduates or professionals in the early stages of their careers who have a keen interest in software testing and quality assurance.

In this fully remote role, you will contribute to testing web and mobile applications, detecting software defects, documenting outcomes, and collaborating with developers to deliver dependable software products. You will gain practical experience with contemporary QA methodologies and Agile development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing on web and mobile platforms.
• Develop, maintain, and improve test cases and test plans.
• Detect, record, and follow up on software defects.
• Execute regression, functional, integration, and usability tests.
• Work closely with development and product teams to resolve bugs.
• Confirm bug resolutions and assist in release testing.
• Keep detailed testing documentation and reports up to date.
• Engage in Agile meetings such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Assist in enhancing testing procedures continually.
• Learn and implement best practices in software quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Great attention to detail.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Enthusiasm for software quality and ongoing learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience through internships, academic projects, or personal software testing work.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
• Basic SQL knowledge for database verification.
• Some exposure to Selenium, Cypress, or Postman is beneficial.
• Awareness of Agile and Scrum frameworks.
