Job Overview
The Junior Planning Engineer will support the Senior Planning Engineer in managing project activities to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery. This role involves updating and monitoring project schedules, tracking progress across engineering, procurement, and construction, and assisting in project controls and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Planning Engineer in preparing, updating, and tracking project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Integrate progress updates from engineering, procurement, and construction teams into project schedules accurately.
- Review project data for thoroughness and correctness while maintaining logical schedule relationships.
- Track project advancement against baseline plans, flagging any delays or variances for senior review.
- Collaborate with various departments including engineering, procurement, site execution, QA/QC, and accounting to gather and verify project details.
- Assist in monitoring resource usage such as manpower, materials, equipment, and plant.
- Contribute to cost control by keeping project expenditure records, tracking spending, and reporting remaining quantities as needed.
- Maintain detailed project logs covering wastage, RFIs, shop drawing and procurement statuses, and other planning registers.
- Prepare progress reports including weekly and monthly dashboards, productivity updates, and schedule revisions for senior management.
- Help formulate recovery plans and upcoming schedule forecasts under supervision.
- Support management reports and presentations with relevant planning data.
- Ensure all planning documentation adheres to company standards and procedures.
- Perform additional planning and project control tasks as assigned by senior staff.

- Completeness and accuracy of project documentation and records.
- Effectiveness in early identification and reporting of scheduling risks.
- Quality and reliability of progress reports prepared.
- Efficient coordination with internal departments and site teams.
- Adherence to company planning processes and reporting standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
- At least 1 to 2 years working in planning, scheduling, or project controls within construction or contracting environments.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
- Fundamental knowledge of project planning concepts, scheduling techniques, and construction practices.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication capability, and coordination skills.
