Role Overview

The position of Junior GIS Analyst is a full-time, on-location opportunity based in Tirana. The role's responsibilities revolve around supporting the creation and upkeep of GIS datasets, maps, and various geospatial products to meet project and internal requirements. Core duties include collecting, cleaning, and structuring both spatial and non-spatial data, conducting fundamental GIS analyses, and producing visual deliverables such as maps, reports, and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate GIS software applications for daily tasks related to geographic data management.
• Update and maintain GIS databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Document workflows and procedures for data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with senior team members to assure the consistency and reliability of spatial data.
• Assist in troubleshooting GIS-related system and data issues.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements in geospatial tools and processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and fundamental GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Competence in data management including organizing, verifying, and maintaining geospatial datasets.
• Understanding of cartography principles and best practices for data visualization.
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Attention to detail with the ability to adhere to established workflows and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication skills and experience working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• English proficiency is preferred; familiarity with Albanian geographical context is advantageous.
