Investment Associate / VP - Munich

About the Role

Our client, a prominent European private equity investor, seeks a motivated professional to join their Munich office. This role offers a unique chance to collaborate with an experienced investment team engaged in evaluating and executing investments throughout the DACH region. Additionally, you will support portfolio companies throughout their expansion phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and execute private equity investments across diverse sectors.
• Conduct financial modeling, valuation analyses, and commercial due diligence.
• Develop materials for investment committees, including presentations and comprehensive memoranda.
• Perform market research, analyze industries, and screen potential investment targets.
• Engage actively in transaction execution including buy-side processes, negotiations, and due diligence reviews.
• Collaborate closely with management teams of portfolio companies to drive strategic and operational initiatives.
• Establish and nurture relationships with founders, advisors, financial institutions, and other investment professionals.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in leading Investment Banks, Strategy Consulting firms, or Private Equity funds.
• Solid transaction exposure in M&A, Private Equity, or Corporate Finance environments.
• Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and valuation techniques, including DCF, LBO, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong commercial acumen with keen attention to detail.
• Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written, is mandatory.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field complemented by an excellent academic background.
• Adaptable to fast-paced and entrepreneurial work settings.
