Position Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Investment Analyst plays a crucial role in assessing investment opportunities through comprehensive financial and market research, preparing detailed investment analyses, monitoring investment portfolios, and aiding strategic investment decision-making. This position demands strong analytical capabilities, expertise in financial modeling, and the skill to communicate data-driven recommendations effectively to senior leadership.
- Conducting financial, industry, and market research to discover investment prospects.
- Performing financial modeling, valuation, and detailed investment assessments.
- Examining financial statements, business results, and trends within the industry.
- Producing investment notes, feasibility reports, and due diligence documentation.
- Overseeing existing investment portfolio performance and creating regular reports.
- Tracking market changes and evaluating their influence on investment strategies.
- Assessing portfolio risks and recommending necessary corrective measures.
- Developing financial forecasts and predicting investment returns.
- Preparing management presentations, dashboards, and MIS reports.
- Facilitating budgeting, capital allocation, and strategic planning efforts.
- Coordinating with internal teams, external advisors, consultants, and financial institutions.
- Assisting with negotiations, documentation, and completion of investment deals.
- Helping prepare materials for the Investment Committee and senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards concerning investments.
- Identifying risks—financial, operational, and market-related—tied to investment opportunities.
- Maintaining precise documentation and investment recordkeeping.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- MBA in Finance or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or financial planning.
