About the Role

The Industrial Security Coordinator position is crucial for liaising between ACWA, its affiliates, and the Supreme Authority for Industrial Security (SAIS) in Saudi Arabia. This role guarantees adherence to industrial security regulations, handles employee and contractor security verifications, facilitates government approvals, and ensures effective communication with SAIS and related authorities. The coordinator supports projects and operations in achieving full regulatory compliance and is integral to enhancing security governance and stakeholder engagement across all affiliated companies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for all industrial security matters between ACWA, its affiliates, and SAIS.
  • Organize and manage communications, meetings, audits, and submissions related to industrial security with SAIS and governmental bodies.
  • Ensure punctual delivery of reports, notifications, and required regulatory documentation to government entities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with SAIS officials and other relevant agencies.
  • Oversee employee and contractor background checks, security clearances, and verification processes in compliance with SAIS mandates.
  • Confirm accuracy and timeliness of all security documentation submissions.
  • Coordinate with HR, project teams, contractors, and SAIS to secure necessary security approvals.
  • Monitor verification requests and expedite resolution of any outstanding cases.
  • Maintain confidential records concerning personnel security verifications and clearance outcomes per regulations.
  • Engage in recruitment and assessment of Industrial Security staff alongside People & Culture and project teams, ensuring candidates satisfy SAIS requirements and company standards.
  • Review candidate nominations for Industrial Security roles prior to SAIS submission and advise on qualifications and compliance.
  • Assist projects and HR in acquiring suitable security personnel and securing expedited SAIS approvals.
  • Support SAIS audits, inspections, and site assessments by coordinating information and documentation provision.
  • Track and manage audit findings, enforce corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of regulatory observations.
  • Maintain secure databases and documentation systems for all industrial security compliance activities.
  • Generate periodic compliance reports, dashboards, and relevant performance metrics.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of SAIS requirements and compliance procedures among stakeholders.

Internal and External Collaboration

  • Work closely with corporate management, plant teams, offices, and departments to align and execute security strategies effectively.
  • Build and nurture relationships with government entities including SAIS, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Energy, National Center for Environmental Compliance, and others.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Security, HSE, or engineering equivalent.
  • Saudi national, married female candidates preferred.
  • Possession of SAIS approval is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial security management or HSE, specifically within critical infrastructure sectors such as power generation, water desalination, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial fields.

Skills and Competencies

  • Fluent communication skills in both Arabic and English, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with SAIS digital platforms for regulatory management and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong coordination and communication capabilities with internal and external stakeholders including government, contractors, and affiliates.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish trust and credibility across various organizational levels and external entities.
  • Effective negotiation and influence skills to drive compliance and resolve conflicts in diverse environments.
