Role Overview

We are looking for an Impact Manager with at least eight years of relevant experience to assist the Associate Director of Impact in shaping and executing Acumen Academy's Theory of Change and Impact Frameworks. This position reports directly to the Associate Director based in London. Candidates must be willing to work onsite at least three days weekly in the London office, with openness to applicants located in Nairobi or Mumbai under a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Impact Frameworks including Theory of Change (TOC), logic models, logframes, and Impact Measurement plans for all projects.
  • Support the development of Academy Evidence and Measurement Frameworks.
  • Create Indicator Tracking Tables and project dashboards to monitor targets and actual outcomes.
  • Ensure all projects have SMART objectives and measurable indicators.
  • Design comprehensive Impact Measurement and Performance Management Plans incorporating data flow and analysis strategies in collaboration with data teams.
  • Manage daily data activities such as collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentations, liaising with both regional and central teams.
  • Develop, test, and validate quantitative and qualitative data collection tools in line with sector standards.
  • Lead data integrity and cleaning efforts in coordination with regional data leads to maintain high-quality datasets.
  • Collaborate on creating new data flow maps for qualitative data processing using organizational data systems.
  • Oversee the annual Lives Impacted reporting process and contribute to system innovation and enhancement for data collection.
  • Conduct target forecasting and monitor progress, alerting project leads of any discrepancies.
  • Generate regular internal reports via Salesforce dashboards or equivalent platforms.
  • Enhance staff capacity on Impact measurement methodologies.
  • Maintain effective collaboration across regional teams and other departments.
  • Respond promptly to diverse data requests from multiple business units.
  • Keep an updated Impact issues log to improve impact management strategies within the Academy.
  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to produce actionable insights and communicate findings through case studies, reviews, interviews, and presentations.
  • Work alongside Data, Systems, and Operations teams on data management and system development tasks.
  • Promote adaptive management by ensuring data informs decision-making and program improvements.
  • Lead After Action Reviews and internal learning initiatives to strengthen organisational learning.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum eight years of experience crafting Theories of Change, logic models, Impact Frameworks, and Evidence and Measurement Frameworks.
  • Skilled in developing operational tools like Indicator trackers and results-based monitoring techniques.
  • Experience collaborating with project implementation teams including project planning and risk management.
  • Proven experience working with global stakeholders across time zones, especially in private sector finance.
  • Expertise in designing and managing systems including processes, technical platforms, staffing, and work methodologies.
  • Proficiency or openness to learn data analysis and visualization tools such as MS Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Airtable, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn advanced data analysis methods including pivot tables and basic regression analysis.
  • Preferred experience developing Salesforce dashboards or equivalent platforms.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United Kingdom and residence in London.
  • Strong self-reflection skills and alignment with Acumen's core values.

Additional Information

This role is based in London with a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through July 10. Multiple submissions by a single applicant are discouraged due to high volume.
