Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled IBM DataPower and IBM API Connect (APIC) Administrator to join our team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The candidate will be responsible for managing production and UAT environments, overseeing enterprise API gateways, handling OpenShift deployments, and ensuring robust API security.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM API Connect platforms.
- Manage both production and UAT environments, prioritizing availability, reliability, and optimal system performance.
- Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot APIs and related gateway services.
- Lead the migration of APIs and services from traditional VM-based systems to OpenShift container platforms.
- Manage API lifecycle activities including implementing security policies, managing SSL certificates, gateway services, and access control mechanisms.
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams during deployment and release cycles.
- Monitor system health, optimize performance, and handle incident resolution in production environments.
- Maintain thorough operational documentation and adhere to ITIL best practices.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Mandatory hands-on expertise with Akamai Noname API Security or similar API security solutions such as Salt Security, Traceable AI, or Imperva API Security.
- At least five years of direct experience administering IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM API Connect.
- Proven track record managing production and UAT environments efficiently.
- Strong practical knowledge of OpenShift and deploying containerized applications.
- Experience migrating APIs and services from VM-based infrastructure to OpenShift container platforms.
- In-depth understanding of REST APIs, API security standards, OAuth, JWT, TLS, and SSL certificate management.
- Competency in Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.
- Excellent skills in troubleshooting, analysis, and resolving technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on projects within banking or financial services sectors.
- Familiarity with enterprise API management platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and containerized ecosystems.
- Relevant IBM or cloud-based certifications are a plus.
