Role Overview

The HSE Technician’s chief responsibility is to guarantee a hazard-free, safe workplace, ensuring that company operations fully comply with applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement fire prevention strategies and safeguard the environment.
• Assess and guarantee appropriate usage and upkeep of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout the facility.
• Drive initiatives aimed at preventing incidents by managing occupational health and safety hazards effectively.
• Ensure adherence to both legal regulations and the organization's HSE policies and procedures.
• Engage actively in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and supervision of on-site work protocols.
• Champion a cultural transformation towards adhering to safe work practices.
• Support adherence and implementation of ISO standards such as QMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, EMS.
• Keep and maintain comprehensive HSE logs and documentation.
• Develop and deliver fire prevention and safety awareness training to employees, including emergency preparedness programs.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE regulations and safe working methods.
• Participate thoroughly in incident investigations and perform Root Cause Analysis.
• Document and report all accidents and incident occurrences accurately.
• Carry out HSE inspections and establish corrective actions where needed.
• Foster cooperative relationships with management, staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are updated, maintained, and effectively communicated.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned related to the role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment laws, policies, and best practices.
• Possession of NEBOSH International General Certificate or similar credentials like NSPON Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.
• Awareness of fire prevention and protection authorities and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A minimum of three to five years of proven experience in HSE roles.
• Proficient in computer usage, specifically Microsoft Office suite.
• Holding valid HSE competency certifications relevant to the role.
