Role Summary
The Housekeeping Associate position is a full-time on-site role based in Sikkim, India. Responsibilities include cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public spaces according to established hotel standards. Tasks involve dusting, vacuuming, floor mopping, changing linens, and replenishing guest amenities. The role requires reporting maintenance concerns promptly, handling cleaning materials conscientiously, and rigorously following health and safety protocols.
Preparing rooms efficiently for incoming guests and ensuring swift room turnover are essential duties. The associate will respond politely to guest requests and collaborate with front office and maintenance departments to ensure smooth daily operations. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming atmosphere throughout the property is fundamental to this role.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Prior experience in housekeeping, room attendant, or similar hospitality roles is highly desirable.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and manage cleaning equipment safely.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong time management and organizational abilities to uphold cleanliness and workflow standards.
- Basic verbal communication skills in English and local dialects to effectively interact with guests and team members.
- Knowledge and adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards with a commitment to hotel policies and procedures.
- Dependability, integrity, and a guest-oriented attitude, demonstrating professionalism and respect toward colleagues and visitors alike.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as dictated by operational needs.
- Minimum education equivalent to high school; formal hospitality or housekeeping training is an added advantage.
