Job Overview
This role entails ensuring a clean and safe environment conducive to patient care in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out targeted cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain facility cleanliness and sanitation.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and germicides to disinfect rooms, furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Execute additional housekeeping activities such as furniture moving, mattress turning, cleaning kitchens and utensils, and floor maintenance including sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing.
- Handle laundering of soiled linens as directed.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are sufficiently stocked for departmental use.
- Clean and store all cleaning equipment and materials properly after each shift.
- Set up rooms for meetings, arranging furniture and decorations for facility events.
- Replenish supplies as necessary throughout the facility.
- Adhere rigorously to infection control protocols.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in housekeeping within commercial, clinical, or healthcare environments is advantageous.
- A valid state driver's license may be required depending on the facility location.
- Certification in CPR, de-escalation techniques, and restraints is mandatory; training for these certifications is provided upon hire.
- First aid certification may be required based on state or institutional standards.
