Position Overview
The role of Hostess, also referred to as Guest Service Expert within the food and beverage sector at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, focuses on crafting memorable dining experiences beyond merely serving meals. This position requires proactive service delivery including tasks such as setting tables, coordinating with kitchen staff, engaging with guests, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and arrange dining spaces to ensure guest comfort and enjoyment.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to facilitate smooth service flow.
- Interact with guests to enhance their dining experience by providing attentive and friendly service.
- Maintain hygiene and orderliness of the service area and supplies.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and quality standards at all times.
- Keep professional personal grooming, uniform, and communication standards.
- Handle physical aspects of the role such as prolonged standing, walking over various surfaces, manual material handling including pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 25 pounds unaided or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job-related tasks as assigned.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum education level: high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Preferably less than one year of relevant work experience.
- No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
- No licenses or certifications required.
