Role Overview
The HGV Driver will support the safe and punctual transportation of clinical and industrial waste, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company standards. This role involves working closely with the Transportation team and providing excellent customer service while complying with legal requirements including the EU Working Time Directive and ADR Transportation Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily route schedules according to agreed timings.
- Complete all required documentation per legislation and company policies relating to Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory road traffic and vehicle regulations, including digital tachograph and vehicle weight limits.
- Adhere to ADR hazardous goods regulations and company standard operating procedures.
- Represent the company courteously at delivery points, maintaining professionalism towards customers and other road users.
- Attend mandatory trainings, meetings, and follow work instructions.
- Perform vehicle checks before use and promptly report defects through proper channels.
- Assist with service coordination during regular days and legal holidays when necessary.
- Display flexibility with work schedules and shifts as required.
- Report incidents and complete associated documentation accurately.
- Carry out additional duties as needed with a cooperative and responsible approach.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant driving experience holding a Category C1 licence capable of operating rigid vehicles up to 26 tonnes.
- Possession of a full Driver CPC card.
- ADR hazardous goods certification preferred; training available for qualified candidates.
- Valid digital tachograph card and proficiency in maintaining drivers hours and WTD records.
- Capability to perform heavy physical tasks and maintain excellent customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with commitment, responsibility, and flexibility.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team and independently when required.
- Professional appearance and conduct aligned with company image, safety focus, and resource optimization.
