Its portfolio includes Anantara, Avani, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and Tivoli, with a presence across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. Becoming part of Minor means joining a broad and growing international business with strong opportunities to develop and progress.

The company places great value on its people and focuses on building skills, supporting growth, and creating an environment where team members feel appreciated and empowered to deliver excellent guest experiences.

Role Overview

Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort is seeking a full-time Guest Service Agent who is enthusiastic about delivering outstanding customer service. This position is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in making them feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

You will help guests throughout their stay, from efficient arrivals and departures to sharing helpful information about local sights and dining options. The role suits someone with a positive attitude, strong guest focus, and the ability to create memorable service experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet arriving guests in a warm, professional manner and ensure the check-in process is handled smoothly and efficiently while responding to immediate questions or needs.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, coworkers, and external contacts through face-to-face interactions, telephone, and email.
  • Manage reservations, amendments, and special requests accurately using property management systems to support smooth operations and room availability.
  • Serve as a main contact for guests during their stay by offering timely help, handling concerns, and giving tailored recommendations to improve their experience.

Work Schedule

This role follows a rotating roster from Monday through Sunday. It is a full-time position of 30 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 7:00am and 11:00pm. An immediate start is available.

Candidate Profile

Successful applicants should bring experience in a hotel, hospitality, or other customer-facing environment, along with a strong commitment to service quality. The role also requires clear and professional communication, a proactive and positive attitude, and the ability to support guest satisfaction and resolve issues effectively. A polished presentation is important, as is flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts based on operational needs.

Additional Information

Minor Hotels offers a package designed to support development, wellbeing, and balance, including learning and career development programs, discounted stays across Minor Hotels in Australasia, reduced rates for friends and family, international accommodation savings across its brands, cashback and retail discounts at more than 400 retailers in Australia and New Zealand, discounted entertainment and activities, health insurance and workplace banking benefits, parental leave and birthday leave, and access to employee assistance and wellness support.

Only candidates with the legal right to work in New Zealand will be considered for this opportunity.
