Job description
Role Overview
UCC Holding Group in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Government Relations & Immigration Manager. This position involves overseeing all HR interactions with Qatari governmental bodies, ensuring valid employee work authorizations and residency, while maintaining compliance with immigration, labor, and sponsorship laws.
Key Duties
- Oversee the entire immigration process from visa applications and work permits to medical checks, biometrics, Qatar ID issuance/renewals, sponsorship transfers, exit permits, and cancellations.
- Handle dependant sponsorship and family residency procedures according to company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance and maintain documentation with authorities such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, QFC Authority, Ministry of Public Health, and Immigration Department.
- Track expiration of Qatar IDs, passports, health cards, establishment documents, and other legal papers to guarantee timely renewals.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulations regarding labor laws, visa quotas, Qatarisation mandates, and sponsorship policies.
- Supervise PRO teams and government service vendors, assuring service quality, timeliness, and adherence to standards.
- Manage government-related expenditures, payments, reconciliations, and all pertinent documentation.
- Coordinate employee mobilization and demobilization activities in partnership with HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and business units.
- Maintain precise immigration records within HR systems while safeguarding employee confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of government relations and immigration experience in Qatar.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Qatari immigration, labor, and sponsorship legislation.
- Practical experience using government platforms such as Metrash, Hukoomi, Ministry of Labour portals, and other e-services.
- A valid Qatar driving license is mandatory.
- Prior experience holding a PRO card is highly desirable.
- Experience working with QFC-registered companies is preferred.
- Strong skills in relationship management with government entities and external vendors.
- Excellent ability to manage documentation, compliance follow-ups, and teams or vendors.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
