Google SecOps Engineer

Overview

Q-Soft Corporation, based in Qatar, is seeking a skilled Google SecOps Engineer to join their cybersecurity division. The ideal candidate will be proficient in deploying and managing Google Security Operations platforms (previously known as Chronicle SIEM & SOAR) to enhance security monitoring and incident response within the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Google SecOps tools including Chronicle SIEM and SOAR.
• Integrate diverse sources such as log inputs, security systems, cloud services, and network devices.
• Design detection mechanisms, create dashboards, and formulate queries for threat hunting.
• Investigate cybersecurity incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Develop and update automated playbooks for incident responses.
• Monitor security alerts ensuring prompt response to incidents.
• Work collaboratively with IT and security teams to enhance overall security measures.
• Produce technical documentation, comprehensive reports, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum four years of experience in SIEM or SOC operational roles.
• At least two years of direct experience with Google SecOps technologies.
• Profound understanding of cybersecurity principles, including MITRE ATT&CK framework and incident response processes.
• Experience integrating various security products such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Detection and Response, Identity and Access Management, cloud, and endpoint security solutions.
• Familiarity with operating systems like Linux and Windows, networking fundamentals, and cloud security practices.
• Knowledge of Python or scripting languages for automation considered a plus.
• Exposure to threat intelligence and detection engineering concepts.

Educational and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• Preferred certifications include Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Google SecOps Certification, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, or CEH.
• Strong communication skills and analytical aptitude.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced enterprise environment.
