Job description

About the Role

Join our team as a Goods on Hold Operative based in Worcester, working full-time and on-site. You will play a crucial role in supporting the depot operations by managing held parcels and ensuring they are processed accurately and delivered on time. You will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to maintain parcel visibility throughout its lifecycle and handle customer queries and depot collections efficiently.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy in processing 'unable to locate' parcels by verifying delivery details.
  • Manage damaged or opened parcels by transferring them to the goods on hold area for further inspection.
  • Request additional information from customers or return parcels as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Administer the documentation and handling of misrouted and mislabeled parcels.
  • Work alongside senior management and security teams to identify and prevent fraudulent shipments.
  • Perform regular housekeeping inspections and checks within the depot.
  • Assist in customer parcel searches as requested to ensure timely resolution of issues.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment, ideally in a warehouse or customer-facing role.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with customers both on the phone and face-to-face.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for administrative tasks.
  • Heightened security awareness and attention to finer details.

Additional Information

This position offers a permanent or fixed-term contract with a competitive salary around £25,500 per year. The working schedule consists of five days within a seven-day period, including weekends.
