Job summary
This position supports the Head Golf Professional and the wider Golf Operations team in creating a premium golf experience at Yas Links Abu Dhabi. The role combines coaching, academy support, event assistance, and member service, while also helping promote the club’s offerings to members and visitors.
Operational support
- Back up the Head Golf Professional in daily golf academy and golf operations activities.
- Build and maintain practical knowledge of academy and operations workflows so you can step in when needed.
- Coordinate with other club departments to help keep day-to-day activity running smoothly and to support a strong member and guest experience.
- Provide assistance to golf operations colleagues whenever the business requires it.
Golf instruction and academy support
- Provide coaching to golfers of different skill levels, including members and guests.
- Work with junior players, beginners, and academy participants in accordance with the club’s coaching standards.
- Support junior golf programs, school partnerships, holiday camps, clinics, and junior competitions.
- Help plan and deliver coaching sessions and academy activities.
- Keep coaching quality and customer care at a consistently high standard.
Member and guest service
- Offer courteous, efficient, and professional service to all members and guests.
- Help create a friendly and enjoyable environment for golfers.
- Handle enquiries from members and guests promptly and professionally.
- Act as a professional representative of Yas Links Abu Dhabi at all times.
Events and club activities
- Support golf tournaments, corporate golf days, member functions, academy events, and promotional activities.
- Contribute to the successful running of club competitions and special events.
- Represent the club professionally at both internal and external golf-related events.
Retail and sales
- Encourage participation in coaching programs, academy memberships, retail products, and club services.
- Assist with golf shop sales by suggesting products and services that suit customer needs.
- Look for opportunities to grow coaching participation and increase retail revenue.
Qualifications and skills
The preferred background includes PGA qualification or an equivalent golf professional certification. Prior experience in golf coaching and academy program delivery is important, along with strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service abilities. A genuine interest in coaching golfers of all ages and skill levels is essential. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and tournament days. A polished appearance and proactive attitude are expected. Arabic language ability would be an advantage.
