Job description

Overview

Join AdTech Ceramics as a GL Operator II, functioning primarily in the Uluberia-II location, West Bengal. This role involves operating machinery with limited supervision, ensuring quality, and continuously improving processes in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned machinery following standard operating procedures to maintain high-quality output.
  • Review and update operational procedures as necessary.
  • Provide innovative suggestions to enhance quality, reduce cycle times, and cut costs.
  • Manage multiple operations within the department including machine adjustments and basic task executions.
  • Receive routine work instructions and detailed guidance for new assignments.
  • Demonstrate ongoing skill development and understanding of tasks within the department.
  • Maintain awareness of the impact of operations on quality, processes, and production flow.
  • Operate M2M systems, identify errors, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure steady product flow and assist in moving products between areas when needed.
  • Support engineering staff with samples or equipment testing as directed.
  • Train colleagues by sharing skills and knowledge, as appropriate.
  • Adhere to safety standards, report violations, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance, participate in a three-shift schedule including overtime and weekends.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly, support team cleanliness efforts.
  • Use company computer-based documentation systems effectively.
  • Assist fellow employees regardless of role and fulfill additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Be flexible to work in other departments as assigned.
  • Comply fully with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School diploma or GED certification.
  • At least six months of manufacturing experience.
  • Basic proficiency in language, mathematics, and computer skills.
  • Vision corrected to 20/20 (contact lenses prohibited within plant).
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and record data.
  • Effective at following written and oral instructions.
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills and attitude.
  • Completion of all required departmental training.
  • Able and willing to train others as needed.
  • Capability to use a microscope for extended durations.

Functional and Environmental Requirements

  • Handle moderate to heavy lifting of 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Perform occasional to frequent sitting; frequent standing and walking.
  • Engage in limited bending, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Execute repetitive hand motions frequently; require frequent eye-hand coordination and fine tactile manipulation.
  • Use microscope on a frequent basis.
  • Work around machinery with moving parts, moving objects, and in a clean room environment.
  • Exposure to noise and chemicals.
