Job description
About the Role
This position is for a General Operative based in Cheltenham, working on a structured 12-hour shift rotation (4 days on, 4 days off) averaging 42 hours per week. The role involves carrying out both scheduled and unplanned maintenance duties, directly supporting operational continuity by swiftly addressing incidents that may occur.
Key Duties
- Supervising contractors present on-site to ensure work standards and safety.
- Executing both planned maintenance jobs and reactive repairs as necessitated by circumstances.
- Rapidly responding to faults, defects, and client requests to minimise operational downtime.
- Maintaining detailed records and preparing straightforward reports related to maintenance activities.
- Recognising and communicating material needs promptly for maintenance tasks.
- Establishing and sustaining positive engagement with client representatives on site.
- Strictly following security protocols and policies throughout work.
Required Experience and Skills
- Practical handyperson capabilities with proven semi-skilled or DIY-level experience in general maintenance or Facilities Management.
- Strong English language communication skills complemented by basic proficiency in IT, including use of email, calendar applications, Word, and Excel.
- Must be eligible to pass Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance to comply with operational security standards.
