General Labourer

About the Role

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious General Labourer to join its team in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The position involves supporting day-to-day site operations in a physically demanding outdoor environment. Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an Air Brake Endorsement. This role suits individuals who thrive in team settings, enjoy working outdoors, and prioritize safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general labour duties including site cleanup, litter removal, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Support heavy equipment operators and drivers with their daily activities.
• Operate or maneuver trucks and equipment requiring an air brake endorsement safely and efficiently.
• Manage on-site traffic flow and direct vehicles to appropriate locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools, work areas, and machinery.
• Adhere strictly to safety policies and site protocols at all times.
• Perform work outdoors under varying weather conditions.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a valid Air Brake Endorsement.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher with a clean driving record.
• Physical fitness capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling weights up to 50 pounds.
• Able to handle a fast-paced, physically challenging work environment.
• Ability to comprehend instructions and work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
• Own or willingness to obtain necessary personal protective equipment, including steel-toe boots.
• Basic computer navigation skills.
• Experience in waste management, construction, or general labour is advantageous.
• Forklift operator certification is highly preferred.
