Role Overview
This opportunity involves a future placement at our Moosonee, ON project, operating from a top-tier Dexterra camp facility. The position follows a biweekly rotation with two weeks on and two weeks off, working 11-hour shifts each day. Transportation to the site is secured from designated pickup points.
The General Helper role centers on supporting kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness, and sanitizing assigned kitchen spaces, equipment, utensils, and dishware.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, scrub, and sanitize assigned kitchen and dining areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors and tables in kitchen and dining sections.
- Clean major kitchen appliances including refrigerators and ovens.
- Handle washing of pots, dishes, glasses, and cups following every meal and as necessary.
- Conduct deep cleaning tasks when required.
- Restock and manage rotation of desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments.
- Assist with unloading, loading, and organizing inventory and supplies.
- Uphold health, safety, and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least six months of experience in kitchen or catering roles within the foodservice sector, hospitality, or remote lodge environments.
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Possess FoodSafe Level I certification; advanced certifications such as SafeCheck or HACCP are advantageous.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively within a structured schedule.
- Capability to achieve a minimum score of 80% on the mandatory WHMIS safety test.
