Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the infant receives constant, safe, and affectionate care at all times.
• Adhere to scheduled feeding routines including breastfeeding, formula feeding, and introducing solids as appropriate.
• Regularly change diapers and maintain proper hygiene to support infant health.
• Promote and manage healthy sleep routines in line with safe sleeping guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• Engage in developmentally appropriate activities such as tummy time, sensory stimulation, reading, and singing to foster growth.
• Monitor and record developmental milestones, keeping clear communication with parents regarding progress.
• Keep the child's environment tidy and organized, including nursery areas, feeding materials, and toys.
• Sanitize bottles, breast pump components, and feeding utensils regularly.
• Handle laundry tasks for infant's clothing and linens as needed.
• Comfort and soothe the infant using appropriate and gentle techniques.
• Transport the infant safely when required.

Health and Safety Duties

• Maintain vigilant supervision of the infant throughout care periods.
• Follow established safe sleep practices, such as placing the baby on their back and ensuring a safe crib environment.
• Possess and maintain current certification in infant CPR and First Aid.
• Identify signs of illness or distress promptly and report any concerns to parents.
• Respect and follow specific care routines and instructions provided by families.
• Adhere to water safety procedures and overall household safety measures.

Candidate Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience with infant care, including newborns, is essential.
• A strong knowledge base in infant developmental stages and daily care routines.
• Valid certification in infant CPR and First Aid is mandatory.
• Must pass a background check and have a clean driving record.
• Non-smoker with high reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Certification as a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) or equivalent specialized training.
• Familiarity with sleep training techniques.
• Understanding of baby-led weaning and early feeding protocols.
• Experience caring for multiple children or working in private household settings.

Work Environment and Additional Expectations

• Care is provided within the family’s home.
• Applicant should be flexible regarding work hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold a professional demeanor in the family environment.
• Limit personal phone usage during working hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry infants weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Comfortable with sustained sitting, kneeling, and participation in floor activities with the child.
• Maintaining alertness and attentiveness over extended periods is necessary.

Compensation

Hourly rate ranges between $18 and $20 depending on experience and qualifications.
