Position Summary

The Floor Technician role involves maintaining, restoring, and operating industrial floor care equipment to ensure all floor surfaces meet cleanliness and safety standards. The position requires previous experience with floor care and a commitment to safety and quality while working full-time with a schedule that includes Monday through Friday and rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply hard-surface floor maintenance techniques such as stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and buffing according to established standards.
• Operate a variety of industrial floor care machines efficiently and safely.
• Utilize automated cleaning equipment to cover extensive floor surface areas.
• Perform carpet and upholstery care tasks, including shampooing, damp surface cleaning, spot removal, extraction, and vacuuming.
• Conduct maintenance and restorative procedures on multiple floor surface types as assigned.
• Execute any other related duties directed by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prior hands-on experience as a floor care technician or similar role is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of floor care equipment operation and cleaning techniques.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and procedures consistently.
• Physical capability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time role based at UAB St Vincent's East located at 50 Medical Park Drive East, Birmingham, AL 35235. The workweek is primarily Monday through Friday with varying hours and rotating weekend shifts. Applications are accepted online only.
