Role Overview
We seek a meticulous KYC specialist to assist Private Banking Relationship Managers (RMs) by preparing and maintaining comprehensive, accurate Know Your Customer (KYC) documents and client due diligence (CDD) profiles, aligning with regulatory requirements and the bank's internal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with RMs to develop detailed KYC files and narratives for new client onboarding, ongoing periodic reviews, and triggered events.
- Compose articulate source of wealth (SOW) and source of funds (SOF) summaries providing clear justification, plausibility checks, and traceability.
- Review client structures including individuals, corporations, trusts, and foundations, ensuring documentation complies with local regulations.
- Guarantee that all KYC profiles satisfy internal quality and compliance standards prior to approval processes.
- Offer guidance to RMs on CDD requirements and acceptable documentation standards.
- Coordinate with RMs to address queries raised by Compliance and Uplift teams.
- Identify and escalate potential anti-money laundering (AML) concerns or documentation deficiencies to Compliance or related control units.
- Actively contribute to process enhancement initiatives and share knowledge within the onboarding and KYC teams.
Candidate Profile
- Possess excellent analytical thinking, conceptual problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and adaptability to evolving environments.
- Demonstrate a strong ethical foundation with resilience in handling challenging situations.
- Hold a university degree or an equivalent qualification in Banking, Finance, or related fields.
- Bring at least five years of professional experience in KYC/CDD, AML compliance, or financial crime remediation, including involvement in substantial remediation or uplift programs.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to engage senior management, foster trusted relationships, provide sound advice, and propose effective solutions.
- Have solid technical expertise in KYC risk assessment, SOW/SOF validation, and financial crime compliance protocols.
- Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple objectives.
