Job description
About The Role
Join our dynamic Finance team dedicated to enabling data-driven decisions across a rapidly growing, multi-unit business environment. We seek a highly analytical, inquisitive, and collaborative FP&A Analyst passionate about transforming financial data into strategic actions. This role moves beyond traditional reporting by developing comprehensive unit-level financial models, collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders to gain performance insights, and supporting both routine forecasting and strategic projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with the annual budgeting cycle, monthly forecasts, long-term planning, and unplanned financial analyses.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models at the unit level, including new site openings, unit economics, labor strategies, and pricing to assess investments and operational initiatives.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to create and validate assumptions, refine forecasts, and enhance accuracy at the unit level.
- Track overall business performance and proactively pinpoint financial risks and opportunities.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to leaders across departments, translating financial results into actionable business insights.
- Challenge conventional thinking and provide evidence-based guidance to improve decision-making using data analysis.
- Communicate complex financial analyses clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Support strategic finance activities, including modeling deals (accretion/dilution, returns/IRR), aiding financial due diligence, and assisting post-merger integration and synergy tracking.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and assist in setting financial performance targets for new and existing business units.
- Prepare monthly reports, KPI dashboards, variance explanations, and presentations for executives and boards.
- Analyze sales, labor, cost of goods, operating expenses, and margins on a unit basis to identify trends and clarify performance drivers.
- Build and refine complex Excel models organization-wide, incorporating automation to streamline reporting.
- Work closely with Accounting during month-end close to validate accuracy and alignment with forecasts.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related disciplines; MBA or CFA credentials are advantageous.
- At least five years in FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, public accounting, or related analytical functions.
- Demonstrated experience with mergers and acquisitions or private equity, including responsibilities such as deal structuring, due diligence, and portfolio company analysis or value creation.
- Exceptional Excel and financial modeling capabilities, including complex model construction and auditing (e.g., three-statement financial models, leveraged buyouts, accretion/dilution, unit economics, and scenario or sensitivity analyses).
- Familiarity with AI-based modeling, SQL, and other business intelligence tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication abilities with a proven track record of establishing strong relationships and influencing diverse, cross-functional, non-financial teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-moving, uncertain environment.
